The Owners |
| Kowas Hunting Safaris is owned by Danie and Ansie Strauss |
 |
| Danie is a born Namibian. He spent his childhood days in Kavango/Caprivi (Northern Namibia) area, where his father was the first cattle trader
amongst the black tribes in the Kavango and Caprivi region in Namibia. He became a passionate hunter from age nine where they had to hunt almost
on a daily basis to provide meat to the cattle herders. After his studies, he became a business consultant and was later appointed as CEO of the
Investment Holdings group of Companies in Windhoek, Namibia. In 1996, he returned to his lifetime passion of conservation and hunting.
With Ansie’s assistance, they transformed Kowas to a wildlife paradise and established the trophy hunting business, Kowas Hunting Safaris, in 1999.
Danie served on the executive of the Namibian Professional Hunting Association (NAPHA) for a number of years. In 2006 he was elected as President
and served for a period of two years. From their marriage, two sons were born, Morné and Jacques. Morné is currently studying to become a
Mechanical Engineer, while Jacques (the hunter) is in his final year in High School (grade 12), after which he will study Business Management from
2011. Both Danie and Ansie love people. Ansie is known for serving the best cuisine. Her quest for detail makes any stay at Kowas an unforgettable
experience. |
